Chris Boscolo, CEO and Founder
Chris Boscolo has over twelve years of experience developing networking and security products. He joined WatchGuard Technologies in 1996, rising to Chief Software Architect. While at WatchGuard, Chris managed the software development of the award winning Firebox, a Firewall/VPN appliance. In addition, Chris led an R&D team that pioneered development of key product features, including breakthrough DNS and VPN technologies.
Chris Slatt, Chairman and Founder
Chris Slatt, Founder and former CEO of WatchGuard Technologies, Inc., has returned to the technology world after the successful launch of Starfire Sports, a world-class youth soccer non-profit based in Seattle. Prior to his work with Starfire Sports, Chris was instrumental in founding and growing WatchGuard Technologies from a startup through its IPO to an industry-leading provider of network security appliances worldwide. Before WatchGuard Technologies, Chris founded Networx, Inc., an enterprise network and systems management company that was later acquired by Legent (Computer Associates). Prior to starting Networx, Chris served as an executive for the Boeing Company, where he spearheaded computer systems projects for NASA and New York City’s Con Edison. He also serves on the Board of Directors of VANTOS.
Chad Waite
Chad Waite joined OVP Venture Partners in 1987 and focuses on investments in the digital biology, and network security sectors. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Accelerator, Adapx, CODA Genomics, Complete Genomics, GenoLogics, NanoString, Plectix BioSystems, and SafeHarbor and is a Board Observer to Allozyne, Orb Networks and Talyst. Prior to joining OVP, Chad was a General Partner at Hambrecht & Quist Venture Partners where he focused on investments in IT and life sciences. Prior to H&Q, he was in marketing and sales management at Cobe Laboratories, Inc. in its cardiovascular medical products division.
Mark Ashida (Observer)
Mark Ashida joined OVP Venture Partners in 2007 and focuses on investments in infrastructure and enterprise software. Prior to joining OVP, Mark served as General Manager of Windows Enterprise Networking at Microsoft Corp., where he drove all development, testing and product management for Microsoft’s networking infrastructure and authentication servers, representing over $450 million in enterprise sales. In particular, Mark drove Network Access Protection (NAP), a major new networking initiative in partnership with Cisco and over 100 security and networking companies. Prior to Microsoft, Mark was Chief Operating Officer at InterTrust, a public company. Before joining InterTrust, Mark was a General Manager at Intel Corporation, launched three companies, served as a turnaround specialist for troubled technology companies and spent time as a strategy consultant as a partner at Deloitte and Touche/Braxton Associates. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Serus, and is a Board Observer to Accelerator, Applied Identity, Collaborative Software Initiative and Tzero.
