Welcome to the Napera Networks blog
Welcome to the new website for Napera Networks. We’ve been in stealth mode since 2006, developing a breakthrough line of network security solutions and are excited about sharing them with the world in the coming months. On February 27th we will be at the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 launch in Los Angeles, followed in early April by the RSA 2008 conference in San Francisco. Drop by and say hello – we look forward to meeting you!
Since our founding we’ve built a kick-ass team with experience from companies like WatchGuard, F5 Networks, Check Point and Sun Microsystems. We are applying the many important lessons we learned at those companies to the Napera product line. Several of us are going to be posting here over the next few weeks as we outline what motivated us to create Napera, talk about our vision for healthy networks in the small to medium enterprise (SME) and unveil our products.
And the most important question – why did we name the company Napera Networks and how do you say it? We pronounce it “Na-Pear-ah” and the reasoning behind the name will become clear later this month. A fortuitous coincidence – Napera is the name of a type of wood traditionally used in Papua New Guinea to start a fire (Heritiera littoralis). Stay tuned as we ignite the SME security market!
