Napera and Microsoft NAP
Napera uses the power of NAP on the client while reducing back-end complexity
Napera solutions leverage Microsoft Network Access Protection (NAP), Microsoft’s architecture for ensuring that computers are healthy and up to date. Because NAP is supported by Windows computers with Windows Vista and Windows XP, administrators do not need to install software on end user computers to benefit from Napera’s endpoint health check. In addition, Napera provides a health agent for Mac OS X to enable health checks for Macintosh computers.
While Napera uses the Microsoft NAP agent on the client side, it does not require installation of Windows Server 2008, saving time, complexity and money. Napera products are designed so NAP health enforcement is performed by the Napera appliance the moment a computer connects to the network. For identity checks, any Active Directory server can be used. If you choose to upgrade to Windows Server 2008, Napera can leverage Windows Server 2008 for both health and identity checks.
Napera makes Microsoft NAP easy for IT professionals to implement, while adding the benefit of identity enforcement, guest Internet and printer access, and strong visibility and reporting on the health state of all computers on the network.
As a Microsoft NAP partner, Napera products were designed and developed in cooperation with Microsoft to make NAP easy to install, manage and support for every enterprise.
