Napera meet Goliath

Playing the role of Goliath in the classic biblical tale, yesterday Microsoft finally launched Windows InTune, their cloud-based desktop management service.  The twist in this story, though, is that the protagonist Napera has no intention of trying to slay this Goliath, at least not until they help pave the way to ubiquitous cloud-based IT management.  In fact we welcome InTune to the market!

New ActiveAgents for Windows and Mac make Napera Insight deployment even easier

Following on the heels of our Google Apps Marketplace launch yesterday for PC Security Informer, there was one item of news that got overlooked in the excitement.

A new 2.0 release of the Napera ActiveAgent for Windows and Mac is now available online. Our ActiveAgent is a lightweight installer that helps you configure Microsoft’s  NAP technology that is part of Windows, a task usually only achieved by the bravest of mortals with the appropriate degrees in rocket science. On Macintosh, the Napera ActiveAgent provides reporting capabilities for OS X overlooked by our friends in Cupertino.

PC Security Informer now available on Google Apps Marketplace

Today we are excited to announce a new release of Napera Insight featuring integration with Google Apps, as announced in this mornings press release.

PC Security Informer now works with Google Apps, and can be added via Google Apps Marketplace. This is a great option for IT admins as companies continue to migrate core functions of their business to cloud based offerings. The Google Apps Marketplace combines multiple, synergistic cloud based offerings in a single location, with unified authentication and a common dashboard. New Napera Insight release adds geolocation, Mac, iPhone and Active Directory features

Today we released an update to Napera Insight, our cloud based network management platform, with great new features for our customers. This is our first update since Napera Insight shipped on March 1st.

Our PC Security Informer app got most of the attention in this release. All remote PC’s reporting in via the Napera ActiveAgent now display geolocation based on their IP address. For our customers using Mac’s, we now check each Mac is configured to require a password when logging in, a common Mac security issue in an office environment. Read the full article…
